A Maryland State Fire Marshal bomb squad blew up a suspicious device this morning on McIntosh Road in Hollywood.
Police and rescue volunteers had been on the scene since 8:55 a bomb robot controlled by technicians detonated the suspicious package.
The Bay Net has learned the suspicious device was a duffel bag found outside near a residence on McIntosh Road by a Verizon employee.
At approximately 11:30 a.m., police began shutting down McIntosh Road, and residences within the perimeter had already been evacuated.
The package was destroyed in a very loud explosion shortly before noon.
During the course of this morningโs investigation, at least two specialists were flown in to the scene by Maryland State Police helicopters Trooper 4 and Trooper 7.
