At 8:53 a.m. Feb. 7, Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to a residence in the 3900 block of Wintergreen Place in Waldorf for the report of a burglary in progress.
The victim, a 59-year-old woman, reported she entered her residence, saw the phone lying on the floor and heard someone upstairs.
In the past few weeks, the victim had experienced several burglaries in which the suspect had been using her telephone to call 1-900 numbers.
When officers arrived on the scene, they searched the residence and found the suspect, a 16-year-old boy who lives on the same street.
Officers arrested the boy and charged him with first degree and fourth degree burglary. Officer J. McKenzie investigated.
