MECHANICSVILLE, Md. — A man suffered traumatic injuries Sunday after a serious crash at Budds Creek Motocross Park in Mechanicsville, prompting a medical helicopter response.

Emergency crews were dispatched shortly before 11:40 a.m. May 10, 2026, to Budds Creek Motocross Park, located at 27969 Budds Creek Road, for a reported traumatic injury incident involving a 44-year-old man.

The man suffered a broken right leg and a pulseless extremity. Responders also reported the man had experienced a loss of consciousness and altered mental status following the crash.

A landing zone was established at the motocross park as Maryland State Police Aviation Command Trooper 7 responded to the scene. The patient was later airlifted to the UM Capital Region Medical Center for treatment.
