Prince Frederick, MD — Calvert County officials are reminding residents that the alcohol ban at Breezy Point Beach and Campground takes effect this week.
Beginning Thursday, Aug. 22, alcohol is not allowed in the park’s beach, fishing and picnic areas. Registered campers may have beer and wine at their campsites. Glass containers are not permitted anywhere in the park.
The alcohol restrictions were passed by the Calvert County Board of County Commissioners on July 23 in hopes of reducing disturbances to people living near the beach and strain on county resources as well as to ensure a safe environment for visitors to Breezy Point.
