
CALLAWAY, Md. – The St. Mary’s County Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual awards gala on Thursday, May 14, at The White Rose, bringing together business, community and political leaders to celebrate local impact, service, and leadership throughout the county.
During the event, several community members and organizations were recognized through awards presented by the Bubby Knott Foundation.
The Carolyn E. Parker Foundation, founded by Adrienne M. Somerville, was named the 2026 Nonprofit of the Year for its continued efforts supporting youth through education, STEM initiatives, mentorship, leadership development, and the arts.





“What an incredible honor to receive the 2026 Nonprofit of the Year Award from the Bubby Knott Foundation on behalf of the Carolyn E. Parker Foundation,” Somerville shared following the event. “To be recognized by the Knott family is deeply special.”
The evening also recognized Patrice Campbell of Building Bridges as the Bubby Knott Philanthropist of the Year for her dedication to community outreach and service initiatives throughout the region.
In addition, Karen Siebert of Great Mills Trading Post was honored as Business Person of the Year for her leadership and contributions to the local business community.
The annual gala highlighted the strength of St. Mary’s County’s business and nonprofit communities while also recognizing America’s upcoming semiquincentennial celebration.
Community members, nonprofit leaders, and business professionals gathered throughout the evening to celebrate the individuals and organizations continuing to make a positive impact across Southern Maryland.
Somerville also thanked the St. Mary’s County Chamber of Commerce for hosting a meaningful evening recognizing leadership, service, and community impact.
