BRANDYWINE, Md. — A new Burlington store is on the way to Brandywine, with signs pointing to a June 2026 opening at Brandywine Crossing, featuring the company’s updated layout with wider aisles and clearer signage.
The location, listed online as Brandywine (#1711), will be at 15920 Robert S. Crain Highway — the former Joann Fabric and Crafts space that closed in 2025 after the company filed for bankruptcy.
Burlington has not announced an exact opening date, with the company’s release noting that details will be shared at a later time. However, an Upcoming Grand Opening listing indicates the Brandywine location is targeting a June 2026 opening.
Once open, the store will be Burlington’s 25th in Maryland.
Shoppers can expect the off-price retailer’s typical mix of discounted brand-name merchandise, including clothing for women, men and kids, along with shoes, beauty products, home décor, baby items and more. The company says it offers “amazing deals of up to 60% off other retailers on top-quality branded merchandise for the entire family and home,” with new items arriving daily.
The Brandywine location will introduce Burlington’s updated in-store experience, designed to make shopping faster and easier for customers.
According to the company, “the new location features Burlington’s reimagined store design, which reflects Burlington’s broader strategy to modernize stores, making it easier for shoppers to find the brands they know and love. All new Burlington stores will feature this refreshed format, including wider, more organized aisles and bold signage for easier navigation to the latest must-have trends. While over half of the brand’s existing locations have already been converted, the remaining stores are expected to transition by the end of 2026.”
Burlington is also expected to hire for the new store, though Brandywine-specific positions had not been posted as of this publication. Job seekers can check for updates at burlingtonstores.jobs.
