
BUSHWOOD, Md. — A reported domestic dispute in Bushwood late Thursday night resulted in felony and misdemeanor assault charges after authorities allege a 26-year-old man struck responding troopers. The Feb. 20, 2026, incident has led to charges of second-degree assault on law enforcement and second-degree assault, according to court records.
According to the Maryland State Police, troopers responded to a residence in Bushwood on Feb. 20, 2026, at approximately 10:51 p.m. for the report of a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, the complainant advised that he rents rooms within the residence to two roommates who were allegedly engaged in a verbal argument involving yelling.
Troopers made contact with Tristan Giovanni Logue, 26, of Bushwood. Charging documents state that Logue appeared intoxicated, with a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from his breath. Authorities further noted bloodshot eyes and slurred speech.
According to the report, Logue allegedly became irate upon the officers’ presence at the residence and began yelling at responding troopers. Investigators allege that Logue struck troopers with his hands during the encounter. He was subsequently placed under arrest without further reported incident.
Logue was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center for processing.
Court records indicate Logue has been charged with second-degree assault on law enforcement, police, parole and probation, fire/rescue, or EMS personnel, as well as second-degree assault.
He was released on his own recognizance on Feb. 21, 2026. A trial date has been scheduled for April 6, 2026, in the District Court of Maryland for St. Mary’s County.
Under Maryland law, second-degree assault on a law enforcement officer carries a maximum penalty of up to 10 years imprisonment and/or a fine of up to $5,000. Standard second-degree assault is punishable by up to 10 years incarceration and/or a fine of up to $2,500.
