Bushwood Woman’s RV Rampage: Assault, Theft, And Destruction Mark Crime Lag
Ashley Rose Dean

BUSHWOOD, Md. – Ashley Rose Dean, 36, of Bushwood, is embroiled in multiple criminal cases stemming from incidents reported earlier this year in St. Mary’s County. The charges against her include two counts of second-degree assault, malicious destruction of property, theft under $100, and motor vehicle theft.

On May 28, 2024, Dean allegedly entered an RV in Bushwood uninvited and assaulted two individuals, including the father of her children. Police reports indicate she struck one victim in the head with a hammer and caused $377 worth of damage to personal property, including a picture frame and a television. Dean was subsequently charged with assault, malicious destruction of property, and theft under $100. If convicted of these charges, she faces up to 10 years in prison and $2,500 in fines per count of assault, up to 60 days in jail and a $500 fine for property destruction, and up to 90 days in jail and a $500 fine for theft.

Despite these charges, Dean failed to appear at a preliminary hearing on November 1, 2024, leading to the issuance of a bench warrant for her arrest. Her absence delayed the legal resolution of the May charges and allowed her to allegedly commit additional offenses in October.

On October 19, 2024, Dean’s mother reported the unauthorized removal of her 2019 Chevrolet Equinox from their residence. The subsequent investigation resulted in Dean being charged with unlawful taking of a motor vehicle, a felony under Maryland law. If convicted, this charge carries a penalty of up to 5 years in prison and a $5,000 fine.

Dean was apprehended on November 25, 2024, when the bench warrant for her failure to appear was served. A bail review hearing on November 26, 2024, resulted in the court ordering her held without bond as she awaits trial.

If convicted on all counts, Dean faces a combination of jail time, prison sentences, and substantial fines that could total over a decade of incarceration and thousands of dollars in penalties. Hearings and trials for her cases are scheduled in the coming months, as law enforcement and the judicial system work to address her alleged criminal actions.

  1. Again, the LEO’s will catch her. Court commissioner will give her PR. Jaymi Sterling will do her job. Judge its time to protect the law-abiding citizens.
