On October 6, 2013, Corporal Corcoran of the Patrol Division responded to a residence located on Macarthur Boulevard in California, Maryland after the victim called 9 1 1 and alleged a neighbor pointed a shotgun at the victim.
The investigation revealed the victim and suspect, identified as Andrew Joseph King, 28, of California, Maryland were drinking at the victim’s residence when King grabbed the victim in a sexual manner.
When the victim refused King’s advances, King became angry and an argument ensued. King then retrieved a shotgun from his residence and returned to the victim. He pointed the shotgun at the victim and threatened to shoot the victim.
However, King walked away from the residence. Neighbors in the area witnessed King with the shotgun and took it for safe keeping until police arrived. Corporal Corcoran located King who was in possession of a quantity of suspected marijuana.
King was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. He was charged with 1st Degree Assault, 2nd Degree Assault, 4th Degree Sexual Offense, and Possession Controlled Dangerous Substance – Marijuana.
