Calling all gearheads/NASCAR fans! On Tuesday, September 29, come to the Calvert Library Prince Frederick to get your fix. There will be cool race-watching gear, tailgating paraphernalia, tips for getting the most out of a NASCAR race, AND a race car! Starting around 6 p.m., modified stock car driver and owner Wayne Hartley will be available with his car, trailer, pit crew and tools to give you a taste of race car maintenance.
Beginning at 7 p.m., several avid race fans will share their tricks and toys that they use to get all the nitty-gritty during a race and for the all-important tailgate party. These fans have taken their race watching gear to Martinsville, Darlington, Richmond, South Boston and more. They have met Carl Edwards, Casey Mears, Robby Gordon, David Starr, Bobby Hamilton, Kenny Wallace, Juan Pablo Montoya and Mike Wallace among others. The Friends of the Calvert Library will be buying tickets to TUMS Fast Relief 500 in Martinsville, Virginia for door prizes!
