PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. – The Calvert County Board of County Commissioners announces county offices will be closed Thursday, Nov. 22 and Friday, Nov. 23, 2018, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. In addition:
· The three county senior centers will be closed Thursday, Nov. 22 and Friday, Nov. 23. Meals on Wheels will not be delivered either day.
· County public transportation will not operate Thursday, Nov. 22 or Friday, Nov. 23. Normal operating hours resume Saturday, Nov. 24.
· Calvert Library locations will close Wednesday, Nov. 21 at 5 p.m. for the holiday and will reopen Saturday, Nov. 24 with normal business hours.
· Mt. Hope, Harriet E. Brown, Northeast, North Beach and Southern community centers and the Dowell and Phillips houses will be closed Thanksgiving Day and Friday, Nov. 23.
· All county convenience centers and Appeal Landfill will be closed Thanksgiving and will reopen for normal business hours Friday, Nov. 23.
· Flag Ponds Nature Park, Kings Landing Park and Battle Creek Cypress Swamp will be closed Thanksgiving Day. Flag Ponds and Kings Landing will open with regular hours on Friday, Nov. 23. Battle Creek will be open on Friday, Nov. 23 from 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
· The Linda L. Kelley Animal Shelter will be closed Thursday, Nov. 22 and Friday, Nov. 23. Normal operating hours resume Saturday, Nov. 24.
· Edward T. Hall Aquatic Center and the Calvert Marine Museum will be closed Thanksgiving Day and will resume normal hours Friday, Nov. 23.
· Chesapeake Hills Golf Course will be open Thanksgiving Day until 3 p.m. Carts must be returned by 2:30 p.m.
· The Solomons Visitor Center will be closed Thursday, Nov. 22 through Sunday, Nov. 25. Normal operating hours are Saturday, 11 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. and Sunday, 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
· Dunkirk District, Hallowing Point, Cove Point and Solomons Town Center parks will be closed Thursday, Nov. 22.
· Twin Shields, Marley Run, BGE and St. Leonard recreation areas along with Ward Farm and Grays Road Dog Park will be open Thanksgiving Day.
