SUNDERLAND, Md. — The Calvert Arts Festival is returning in 2026 for its 20th year to celebrate local talent and use the arts to support the community. The festival still has limited spaces left for painters, sculptors, and masters of craft, and thankfully, plenty of room for locals to attend and enjoy this event.
The event will take place on Saturday, May 9, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at All Saints Episcopal Church, 100 Lower Marlboro Road, Sunderland. The event helps raise money to support local charities in the area and has been a popular event in the area since it began.
The festival began in 2006 with a simple mission: to celebrate the arts while supporting community charities. Twenty years later, this tradition continues to grow, having raised over $105,000 for organizations that strengthen our Southern Maryland community.
Admission and parking are free for this event. Organizers invited local artists, artisans, and makers to apply for the few spots left at the festival to showcase their skills and connect with the community in a Feb. 28 Facebook post.
For its 20th anniversary event, the Calvert Arts Festival will feature:
- Artisan marketplace featuring high-quality, locally crafted goods
- Wine and beer tasting ($20 wristband includes tasting glass)
- Live entertainment throughout the day
- Silent auction supporting local charities
- Children’s activities and crafts
- Historic church tours and labyrinth walks
Any interested artists can submit their applications online or follow the festival to learn more about the event.
