PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — Calvert County’s Department of Public Safety and its contracted partner, MissionCIT, are asking for the public’s help developing a new fire, rescue and emergency medical services plan.
As part of the planning process, MissionCIT is gathering public feedback about Calvert’s fire, rescue and EMS and residents’ experience with these services. To provide feedback, respondents cannot be members of volunteer fire departments or volunteer rescue squads. Surveys like this one can help shape the plan through a comprehensive understanding of the public perspective on services provided by the county.
Calvert residents can take the survey online through June 6. The survey is only nine questions long and asks about the survey-taker’s location and available services in their area, then asks them to rank their experiences with providers. According to a press release from the county, the survey will “help MissionCIT better understand the expectations and experiences of community members who use or are familiar with local emergency services.”
In addition to the online survey, the Department of Public Safety will host an in-person public feedback session at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, at 110 Main St., Prince Frederick.
“The Department of Public Safety appreciates residents’ participation and assistance in helping shape the future of fire, rescue and EMS services in the community,” officials wrote in the press release.
MissionCIT provides EMS education, fire services training, assessment and professional services for first responders, according to its website. Its programs include drills and compliance training, entry and promotional testing, recruitment and retention, official development, leadership training, strategic planning and more.
