
PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — Calvert County is hoping to help local businesses grow and expand this summer with a slate of classes and offerings.
Organized by the department of Economic Development, the courses are focused on helping business owners better prepare for marketing and growth opportunities. Both sessions will take place online to give residents the chance to join no matter what else is going on as they run or prepare to launch their businesses.
The two events will take place on back-to-back days, July 28 and July 29.
Propel Your Sales Using LinkedIn 30 Minutes Per Day: LinkedIn is the top social media tool for entrepreneurs, business owners, sales professionals, IT professionals and more. Yet many professionals are missing out on using this tool for marketing. In this presentation, participants will learn how to use LinkedIn 30 minutes per day to “reap the many rewards” of this platform. The presenter is Thomas Ellis, chief sales coach at EWC Consultants.
This course will take place from 11 a.m. to noon July 28. Interested participants should register online by July 27.
Are You Capital Ready? Preparing Your Business for Funding: This session helps business owners understand what lenders look for and how to prepare before applying for capital. Participants will learn the essential financial documents lenders require; how lenders evaluate cash flow, debt service coverage and credit; the importance of financial organization and accurate bookkeeping; how to create a practical capital readiness checklist; and common reasons funding applications are denied. The presenter is Sharif J. Small, AFC®, S.J.S. Financial Firm LLC real estate tax accountant.
This course will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. July 29. Participants can register online by July 28.
