Noisy Neighbor with Fireworks โ€ฆ and a Machete?
On Tuesday, Sept. 20 at approximately 12:45 a.m. Dep. C.J. Childress arrived at Harrison Blvd. in Chesapeake Beach for a fireworks complaint. The suspect, Joseph G. Grello, Jr., 43, of the contact address, was asked to keep the noise down.
Dep. Childress was subsequently called back to the same residence at 1:45 a.m., where he again advised suspect Grello to quite down and warned him that if units had to return a third time, the suspect would be arrested.
Sixteen minutes later, at 2:01 a.m., Dep. Childress was called to respond a third time to the same address. This time the officer was advised by the complainant that Grello had a machete. No weapon was found, however, and suspect Grello was arrested and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center for processing.

Arsonist Toasts Truck
Dep. James W. Smith responded to South Point Court in Owings on Sunday, Sept. 18 at 10:00 p.m. for a reported vehicle fire. The victim stated that someone had set his truck on fire. There was major fire damage to the front end of the 2003 Ford Explorer, estimated at $25,000.00. Deputy State Fire Marshal John Tennyson arrived and collected evidence. The CIT Division is handling the investigation.

49 Year-Old Intoxicated Behind the Wheel and Carrying Coke
While on routine patrol on Saturday, Sept. 17, at 11:36 p.m., Dep. C. Fischer answered a call for a possible drunk driver heading southbound on Md. Rt. 4 in Huntingtown.
Dep. Fischer observed the car swerving all over the roadway near Plum Point Rd. He initiated a traffic stop and determined after conducting Standard Field Sobriety Tests that the driver was intoxicated.
A search incident to arrest revealed a clear straw with white powder residue, along with some folded brown paper with a white powder substance, suspected to be cocaine in the suspectโ€™s pocket.
The suspect, John Thomas Harris, 49, of Prince Frederick, was arrested and charged with DWI and Possession of CDS.

Thief Takes Truck of Tools from Driveway: Keys Were Left in Open Truck
DFC Michael Naecker responded to Cornwall Road in Owings on Thursday, Sept. 15 at 2:19 in the afternoon for a reported stolen vehicle. The victim states that the keys were left in the unlocked truck in the driveway while he performed work on the house. He looked over to observe his vehicle being driven out of the driveway. The vehicle, a red Ford F-250 also contained a large amount of tools. A lookout for the truck was broadcast and the search is continuing.
