During the week of June 8 – June 14 deputies of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office responded to 1,423 calls for service throughout the community.

Damaged Property: 20-29649
On June 8, 2020, Deputy W. McDowell responded to Overlook Drive in St. Leonard for the report of damaged property. The complainant advised sometime overnight on June 7th, an unknown suspect(s) damaged the wooden stairs that lead to Flag Harbor Beach by burning the wood. The value of damaged property is $400.

Damaged Property: 20-30014
On June 10, 2020, Deputy Grierson responded to Howard Drive in Port Republic for the report of damaged property. The complainant advised that sometime between 7:00pm and 11:59pm on June 9th, an unknown suspect(s) shot an arrow into the exterior siding which became lodged in the drywall and could be seen from inside the residence. The value of damaged property is $150.

Mail Tampering: 20-29930, 20-30196, 20-30244, 20-30297
On June 9th through June 11th, Deputies responded to multiple reports of mail tampering in the Port Republic and Huntingtown areas. Complainants advised various pieces of incoming and/or outgoing mail were opened, but were left in the mailbox or found discarded nearby.

Theft: 20-29858
On June 9, 2020, Deputy Durnbaugh responded to Hallowing Point Road in Prince Frederick for the report of mail tampering and theft. The complainant advised an unknown suspect(s) opened a package that was delivered to their mailbox, and stole the prescription medications that were inside. The value of stolen property is $20.

Theft: 20-30065
On June 10, 2020, Deputy Aurich responded to Walmart in Dunkirk for the report of a theft. The complainant advised they left their wallet in the Walmart bathroom and after retrieving it, noticed an unknown suspect(s) had stolen two debit cards, a credit card, and currency.

On June 10, 2020, Deputy Mason responded to Sixes Road in Prince Frederick for the report of mail tampering and theft. The complainant advised that an unknown suspect(s) stole two pairs of earrings from a package that was delivered to their mailbox. The value of stolen property is $40.50.

Theft: 20-30089
On June10, 2020, Deputy Mason responded to Honey Cove Court in Prince Frederick for the report of mail tampering and theft. The complainant advised sometime between 9:37am on June 7th and 5:36pm on June 8th, an unknown suspect(s) stole multiple packages that had been delivered. The value of stolen property is $55.

Theft: 20-30207
On June 11, 2020, Deputy Mason responded to Sixes Road in Prince Frederick for the report of mail tampering and theft. The complainant advised that sometime between June 5th and June 8th an unknown suspect(s) stole a package containing an Umparts Carburetor that was delivered to their mailbox. On June 10th, a second package containing two DVD’s was delivered, and an unknown suspect(s) stole one of the DVD’s. The value of stolen property is $25.

On June 11, 2020, Deputy Grierson responded to Hidden Creed Road in Port Republic for the report of mail tampering and theft. The complainant advised sometime between May 31st and June 10th, an unknown suspect(s) stole a package containing prescription medication that was delivered on May 31st. The value of stolen property is $6,977.

Theft: 20-30333
On June 11, 2020, Deputy Kwitowski responded to Adelina Road in Prince Frederick for the report of mail tampering and theft. The complainant advised an unknown suspect(s) cut open an envelope that was delivered to their mailbox and stole vape oils that were inside, and left the envelope in the mailbox. The value of stolen property is $60. 

Arrests:

Sigbee Dexter Riley, 51

On June 14, 2020, Deputy Wilder conducted a traffic stop on North Solomons Island Road at Traditional Way in Prince Frederick. Upon making contact with the driver, Sigbee Dexter Riley (51), Deputy Wilder detected the strong odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. The driver and passenger were removed from the vehicle and a search was conducted, resulting in two small marijuana cigarettes, a pint sized mason jar containing suspected marijuana with five small plastic bags, and a small glass container with suspected marijuana wax/oil inside. Riley was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with CDS: Possession of Marijuana 10 GM+.
