During the week of January 11 – January 17, deputies of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office responded to 1607 calls for service throughout the community.

Damaged Property: 21-1710
On January 11, 2020, Deputy Holt was patrolling the North Beach Boardwalk area where he noticed an unknown suspect(s) damage the Christmas tree on the boardwalk.  Numerous panels were missing from the tree.  After further investigation, it was discovered the panels were thrown into the water.  The amount of damaged property is unknown at this time.

Damaged Property: 21-2552
On January 14, 2021, Deputy Lewis responded to Planet Fitness in Prince Frederick, MD, for the report of damaged property.  The complainant advised an unknown suspect(s) shattered their rear window of their vehicle between 10:00 a.m. and 11:45 a.m.  The estimated amount of damaged property is $500.

Theft: 21-1812
On January 11, 2021, Deputy Flynt responded to Old Plum Point Rd, Huntingtown, MD, for the report of a theft.  The complainant advised an unknown suspect(s) came to the property sometime before January 8, 2020 and took 50 tobacco baskets from a barn.  The estimated amount of stolen property is between $5,000 and $6,250.

Theft: 21-2362
On January 13, 2021, Deputy Gott responded to W. Tomahawk Trail, Lusby, MD, for the report of a theft. Upon his arrival, the complainant advised two packages had been delivered to the residence and an unknown suspect(s) had torn open the packages and stole J-Lab wireless ear buds.  The amount for the stolen property is $49.


Arrests:

John Anthony Phipps, 47

On January 14, 2020, Deputy Crum responded to the Walmart in Dunkirk, MD, for the report of an unknown suspect tampering with vehicles.  The suspect was identified as John Anthony Phipps (47). Throughout the day Phipps was going around the parking lot tampering with vehicles so they wouldn’t start and then would ask the owners if they needed help fixing the vehicle.  Phipps was arrested and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with Rogue and Vagabond and Malicious Destruction of Property less than $1,000.


Nicole Marie Fant, 35

On January 15, 2020, Deputy Savick responded to the Calvert County Detention Center for the report of a CDS violation.  Upon arrival, the deputy was notified that Correctional Deputies found Xanax bars, Adderall, Seroquel and Heroin/Fentanyl on the suspect identified as Nicole Marie Fant (35).  Fant was charged with four counts of Possession of CDS- Not Marijuana and one count of Possession of Contraband in a Place of Confinement.
