PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — Lisa Grenis will seek a second term on the Board of Education (BOE) at Calvert County Public Schools.
Grenis, who currently serves as the vice president on the board, filed with the State Board of Elections on Dec. 29. Grenis was first elected in 2022 and is serving a four-year term. BOE President Jana Smith-Post is also up for re-election in 2026.
Grenis is a retired educator of Calvert County Public Schools (CCPS). She graduated with a bachelor’s in elementary education from California University of Pennsylvania. During her 26-year career, she served as a supervising teacher for student teachers, served as a grade-level team leader, organized academic after-school programs for students and parents, was former president of the Southern Maryland Reading Council, and was nominated for Teacher of the Year by Huntingtown Elementary staff.
Grenis did not immediately respond to The BayNet’s request for information on her goals and platform for her re-election campaign. In a past interview, she focused on school safety, academic excellence, fiscal responsibility, and creating a “safe and welcoming learning environment.”
The 2026 general election will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 3, with early voting from Oct. 22 to Oct. 29. You can find more information about Calvert County voting and elections online.
