Barstow, MD โ The 128th Calvert County Fair concluded Sunday, Sept. 28 with another impressive crowd and plenty for everyone to enjoy.
The final dayโs highlights included the annual antique tractor pull, a well-received performance by the Chesapeake Country Cruisers and the traditional woodcarver auction. Bill Yates and the Country Gentlemen Tribute Band rendered their repertoire of bluegrass music for the fairโs final three hours.
Among the highlights of the 2014 Calvert County Fair was the Calvert Fair Idol Contest. The top prize ($1,000) went to Brandi Lynne Wightman. The second-place contestant was Keanuu Smith-Brown, who received a $500 check. Finishing in third place was Monica Garza, who received a $250 check. The contest was sponsored by G.H. Clark.
Calvert County traditionally puts the wrap on county fair season in the State of Maryland. The agriculture and business exposition, food and music festival will be much anticipated when September 2015 rolls around.
