On January 12, at 4:06 p.m., Corporal Bevard attempted to stop a vehicle on eastbound Dares Beach Road in Prince Frederick.
The driver refused to stop and turned onto Clay Hammond Road. The driver then drove through the yard of a residence and crashed through a fence. He then exited the vehicle and fled on foot into the woods. Cpl. Bevard chased and caught the driver.
Kevin M. Riggleman, 31 of Prince Frederick, was arrested and charged with numerous traffic violations including operating an unregistered vehicle and driving on a revoked license. He was also charged criminally with malicious destruction of property.
Riggleman was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.
