Maryland State Police Barrack โ€œUโ€ personnel conducted several initiatives on Wednesday, March 17, in support of statewide efforts to reduce the prevalence of impaired and aggressive driving.ย  The enforcement efforts took place during routine, or overtime patrols using grant funds supplied by the Maryland State Highway Administrationโ€™s Highway Safety Office.ย ย 

As a result of these local efforts, there were:ย 

*ย 2 Driving Under the Influence Arrests;
*ย 4 Civil Citations for Under Age Alcohol Violations;ย 
*ย 16 citations โ€“ย  of which 8 were for speeding;
*ย 38 warnings of which 21 were for speeding; and
*ย 2 Criminal Arrests (warrant/summons).


Maryland State Police Barrack โ€œUโ€ is participating in the 2010 Law Enforcement Challenge Campaign, and will continue to direct law enforcement efforts to increase motoristsโ€™ safety throughout the calendar year.ย  Specific enforcement and public awareness initiatives will be directed to increase the correct use of seat belts and prevent speeding and drunk driving on Calvert County roadways.ย
