Jaquan Marquis Wills

Prince Frederick, MD – A Calvert County man was indicted Monday, Dec. 18 on six counts stemming from a shooting incident that occurred in the Chesapeake Ranch Estates (CRE, aka The Ranch Club) subdivision of Lusby in November. In the incident occurred during the late afternoon hours of Saturday, Nov. 18 on Big Bear Lane. According to a report from the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office, one person standing next to a motor vehicle was shot once by a man sitting inside the vehicle. The victim was transported by Maryland State Police helicopter to Prince George’s Shock Trauma. The injury sustained by the victim, who was reportedly shot in the arm, was non-life-threatening. The victim was released within 24 hours after receiving medical treatment.

The suspect fled the area. He was subsequently identified as Jaquan Marquis Wills, 20 of Lusby. Wills was arrested Nov. 19.

The indictment counts against Wills are one count each of first-degree assault, second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, firearm possession with a felony conviction, handgun on person, possession of firearm minor, dangerous weapon concealed and illegal possession of ammunition. With the exception of the first-degree assault and the firearm possession with a felony conviction counts, all of the charges against Wills are misdemeanors.

At this time it’s not known when Wills will be in Circuit Court for a hearing. It is also uncertain who will be representing Wills during court proceedings.
