Catherine Marie “Kellie” Mason
Chesapeake Beach, MD – News and police reports from Panama City, FL confirm that a Calvert County woman died Oct. 4 of injuries sustained the day before while riding on a motorcycle. Rausch Funeral Home identified the woman as Catherine Marie “Kellie” Mason, 53 of Chesapeake Beach, a native of Texas and U.S. Census Bureau employee.
According to reports from the Florida Highway Patrol, Mason was traveling on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle operated by her husband Gary. The Masons, who were on vacation, were traveling west in the outside lane of US Route 98 Oct. 3. About 11 a.m. the motorcycle drove over a wet area in the road and went out of control. Police reported Kellie Mason then fell off the motorcycle, sustaining critical injuries.
In addition to her work for the federal government, Rausch reported Kellie Mason was active at Grace Church at Western Shore, Birthright in Prince Frederick and the Calvert Animal Welfare League.
