PATROL OFFICER ARRESTS BURGLARY SUSPECT AND RECOVERS STOLEN PROPERTY: On March 30, Charles County Sheriffโ€™s Officer J. Morales arrested Robert Eugene Smith, 28, of CapitolHeights, in connection with the January 31 burglary of a landscaping company in White Plains. During the burglary, Smith broke into the business after hours and stole 2 chain saws, two weed eaters, a leaf blower, a concrete saw, a case of washer fluid, a floor jack and other miscellaneous items. Officer Morales developed leads in the case and subsequently identified Smith as a suspect. A search warrant of Smithโ€™s residence was executed and officers recovered most of the stolen property. Smith was charged with burglary and felony theft.
