UPDATE: 84-Year-Old Driver Jumps Curb, Strikes Customer, 88, Inside Prince Frederick Verizon
PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — On Oct. 21, 2025, at about 10:30 a.m., emergency crews responded to the Verizon Wireless store in the Market Square shopping center for a report of a vehicle into the building.
Arriving units found a car inside the storefront and one customer who had been struck. The operator of the vehicle refused care on scene. A woman inside the store was evaluated by EMS and transported by ambulance to an area hospital.
According to a Prince Frederick firefighter, the driver told responders their foot slipped off the brake and onto the accelerator. The vehicle broke glass to the left of the main entrance, traveled across the front of the store, and damaged windows on the right side before stopping.

A building inspector was requested due to multiple interior walls being struck, and the business will remain closed until further notice. Firefighters checked the structure for hazards and helped staff secure the area.
Maryland State Police are investigating the crash; no charges had been announced as of late Tuesday morning.
