ย At 11:15 p.m. April 5, TFC P. Trossbach initiated a traffic stop on north bound Route 5 at Route 243 in Leonardtown on a tan Hyundai Sonata for failing to drive in a single lane.ย  Contact was made with the four occupants of the vehicle and a strong odor of burnt marijuana was emitting from the vehicle.

ย During the course of the traffic stop, a clear plastic baggie of Marijuana was found in the vehicle. All occupants of the vehicle were arrested for possession of marijuana and taken to the St. Maryโ€™s County Detention Center.

ย Arrested was: the driver, Amber Renee Kellis, 23, of Lexington Park, Terrell Waul, 22, of California, Christopher Michael Gaines, 27, and Nicholas Olanda Waul, 26, both of Lexington Park.

ย Nicholas Waul was additionally charged with making false statements to a police officer and hindering an investigation.ย  During the course of Waulโ€™s arrest, he provided the wrong name several times during the process of his being arrested.

ย Once his true identity was revealed it was found that Waul was wanted by the Maryland State Police in Leonardtown on an outstanding Bench Warrant for Violation of Probation for DWI, in addition to being wanted by both the St. Maryโ€™s County and Charles County Sheriffโ€™s offices.

ย Nicholas Waul was held on No Bond pending his court appearance for the outstanding warrants in this county.ย  A detainer has been filed by the Charles County Sheriffโ€™s Department pending his release.
