Prince Frederick, MD –ย The hottest week of summerโ€”so farโ€”was a time to jump on a spinning fan to cool off. Thatโ€™s just what kids and adults did, too at the annual Prince Frederick Volunteer Fire Department (Company 2) Carnival. There were plenty of spinning rides for everyone during the five-day carnival, an August tradition in Calvert County.

One Company 2 volunteer told The BayNet the crowds were great all weekโ€”Tuesday, Aug. 9 through Saturday, Aug. 13–despite the humidity. The event was held at the currently vacant parcel at northbound Route 2/4 and East Dares Beach Road.

โ€œThe members of the Prince Frederick Volunteer Fire Department would like to thank everyone for coming out and supporting our annual carnival this past week,โ€ Company 2 officials stated on their Facebook page. โ€œWhether your favorite part was the rides, the games, the carnival food, or winning a fish, we hope you all had a great time. Our fundraisers are dependent on the support of the community members we serve. We can’t thank you enough for helping us have another great year at the carnival.โ€

Company 2โ€™s next big event is their car show Sept. 10.
