BURGLARY:ย On Oct. 30 at 1:10 a.m., officers responded to a business in the 3900 block of St. Charles Parkway in Waldorf for an intrusion alarm. Upon arrival, officers found the front door window was shattered. Investigation showed unknown suspect(s) broke in and stole cartons of cigarettes. A police K-9 team checked the building with negative results. The scene was processed for evidence.ย PFC. M. Hancock is investigating.
TOOLS STOLEN: Between Oct. 26 โ Oct. 29, unknown suspect(s) broke into a business in the 15200 block of Prince Frederick Road in Hughesville and stole tools and equipment. Officers processed the scene and recovered evidence. PFC D. Butler is investigating.
PATROL OFFICERS APPREHEND BURGLARY SUSPECTS:ย On Oct. 28 at 2 p.m., officers responded to the 4300 block of Rock Court in Waldorf after a citizen called to report a burglary in progress. A Charles County Sheriff’s officer and a Maryland State Police officer arrived on the scene and apprehended two suspects who attempted to run. The investigation revealed the suspects attempted to enter through a basement window, but were unable to get inside. The suspects then walked to the rear of the residence and broke into a storage unit, which was attached to the residence. The suspects, a 17-year-old male and a 15-year-old male, were charged with burglary, destruction of property and possession of a controlled dangerous substance. Officer D. Walker is investigating.
OFFICER APPREHENDS THEFT SUSPECT:ย On Oct. 28 at 3:40 a.m., officers responded to the area of Highland Place in Waldorf for the report of a man pulling aluminum gutters off of a house. Upon arrival, officers obtained a description of the suspect and searched the neighborhood. About an hour later, officers returned to the area and spotted the suspect walking between houses carrying a large piece of aluminum. The suspect dropped the aluminum and told officers he was in the area visiting a friend. The suspect, Harvey Lee Crone, 40, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with theft and destruction of property. PFC B. Moore is investigating.
