The House of Dance is pleased to announce a unique opportunity to learn Swing Dance from US Open Swing Dance Champions, Kevin Fitzhugh and Tammy Brown during their Holiday Dance Party to be held on Saturday, December 10th. Kevin and Tammy formed their team in 2001. Since this dynamic union, Kevin and Tammy have been legitimate contenders for every title they have competed. Developing a unique style, Swing Fusion, that combines a mix of Jitterbug, D.C. Hand Dance and West Coast Swing, Kevin and Tammy have won on both the local and national levels.
Kevin and Tammy’s numerous titles include being 2-Time Virginia State Open Hand Dance Showcase and Classic Division Champions and Michigan Classic Fast Dance Division Champions. In 2006, they became the first African American Swing Dance couple to win the US Open Swing Dance Title in the Sophisticated Swing Division. The Holiday Dance Party at The House of Dance will begin at 7:00pm, Saturday December 10th. Doors will open at 6:45pm and a special 90 minute workshop with Tammy and Kevin will begin at 7:15pm. After the workshop, there will be Open Dancing until 11pm, with light refreshments served. The admission cost includes the workshop with Tammy and Kevin. Advance tickets may be purchased at The House of Dance, or online for $15 per person, or at the door for $20 per person.
