Another Alleged Vehicle Break-In Lands Prince Frederick Man Behind Bars Without Bond

PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — Less than two weeks after Calvert County Sheriff’s Office deputies accused him of rummaging through multiple vehicles in a Lusby neighborhood, a Prince Frederick man is facing another rogue and vagabond charge after investigators alleged he stole coins from an unlocked SUV parked outside a Prince Frederick home, according to court documents.

Marvin Charles Dickerson, 42, of Prince Frederick, was charged in the District Court for Calvert County with theft of property valued under $100 and rogue and vagabond following his July 23, 2026, arrest.

The new charges come while Dickerson is already awaiting trial in a separate Calvert County case in which deputies alleged he entered multiple vehicles in Lusby, stole a woman’s wallet, admitted he intended to target additional vehicles and was found in possession of a controlled dangerous substance. That case remains pending.

According to the statement of probable cause, a deputy responded on July 23 to the first block of Gray Inn Court in Prince Frederick for a reported theft from a vehicle.

The vehicle owner told deputies she had left her white 2020 Lexus UX unlocked and later discovered someone had entered the SUV and stolen loose change. She reported that security camera footage captured the incident and that she recognized the suspect after seeing photographs previously posted by the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office on social media.

Investigators reviewed the surveillance footage and alleged it showed Dickerson approaching the neighborhood shortly after 3:20 a.m. on July 23. According to court documents, Dickerson walked to the driver’s side of the Lexus, pulled on the door handle, discovered it was unlocked, entered the vehicle and removed approximately $15 in coins.

The footage allegedly showed Dickerson walking away while attempting to check other vehicles in the neighborhood. The victim also told deputies her work bag, containing a cellphone and laptop, had been left inside the SUV but was not taken.

Deputies searched the surrounding area but initially were unable to locate Dickerson.

Later that morning, at approximately 9:05 a.m., Calvert County Communications received a separate report of a trespassing complaint at a residence on Church Street in Prince Frederick. The caller reported a man was sleeping on the front porch. Responding deputies located Dickerson at the scene.

According to the charging documents, deputies searched Dickerson’s backpack and recovered a clear plastic bag containing numerous coins. Dickerson allegedly admitted the coins had been stolen from the vehicle. Investigators later counted the coins and determined they totaled $17.03.

Dickerson was arrested and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center. Deputies also issued him a trespass warning prohibiting him from returning to the Church Street property.

Second Vehicle Break-In Case In Two Weeks

The latest prosecution follows another case filed earlier this month in which Dickerson was charged after deputies alleged he entered a parked pickup truck on Susan Lane in Lusby, stole a Kate Spade wallet, cash and personal documents and admitted he planned to continue checking vehicles for money.

According to those earlier charging documents, Dickerson allegedly told investigators he intended to “only take money” and planned to go through parked vehicles to “just grab the change.” Deputies also alleged he admitted entering several other vehicles before being detained.

Court records show Dickerson appeared for a bail review hearing on July 24, 2026, before Judge Michelle R. Saunders, who ordered that he continue to be held without bond.

He is next scheduled for trial on Sept. 10, 2026, in the Calvert County District Court.
