Chaney Enterprises was recognized for its contributions to the Rowe Boulevard Bridge project in Annapolis by the National Partnership for Highway Quality (NPHQ) this month.
The NPHQ awarded its 2007 National Achievement Award Special Recognition for a Structure Project to the Maryland State Highway Administration and its District Five, Corman Construction, Inc., and KCI Technologies. Contracting with Corman Construction, Inc., Chaney Enterprises received recognition for its partnership with the firm.

The special recognition project award, named “Rowe Boulevard: Enhancing Maryland’s Capital Gateway Through Community Outreach,” was presented at the November 2007 NPHQ conference held in San Diego, CA. According to a NPHQ press release, the Rowe Boulevard project required innovative storm water management techniques to project and enhance two fragile watersheds. Construction was environmentally monitored daily and deficiencies were remedied within 48 hours. Coupled with several enhancements requested by the community, the project serves as a model for context-sensitive construction solutions in Maryland.

Thirty-six companies were involved in the SHA project, which was completed in 2006. Chaney Enterprises was a major supplier of concrete for the project.
