LA PLATA, Md. – Graduation ceremonies for high schools seniors in the Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) Class of 2018 are planned for May 31, June 1 and June 2 at the Convocation Center at North Point High School in Waldorf.
The ceremony for North Point is Thursday, May 31. Ceremonies for Westlake, Henry E. Lackey and Maurice J. McDonough high schools are Friday, June 1. Seniors from St. Charles, Thomas Stone and La Plata high schools graduate on Saturday, June 2.
North Point’s ceremony is set for 7 p.m. May 31. North Point also is closed for all students May 31 to accommodate graduation activities and anticipated traffic on school grounds. All high schools, as well as William A. Diggs Elementary and Theodore G. Davis Middle schools, are closed for students Friday, June 1 to accommodate graduation ceremonies.
The schedule for June 1 is
· Westlake, 9 a.m.;
· Lackey, 2 p.m.; and
· McDonough, 7 p.m.
The schedule for June 2 is
· St. Charles, 9 a.m.;
· Stone, 2 p.m.; and
· La Plata, 7 p.m.
The childcare center at North Point is closed May 31 and June 1. Students who utilize bus transportation to the Robert D. Stethem Educational Center from North Point will be excused from class May 31. These students also can secure alternate transportation and attend classes at Stethem May 31. The Stethem Center is closed for all students June 1.
Graduation ceremonies will stream live on the CCPS website, www.ccboe.com. The Convocation Center is located at 2500 Davis Road, Waldorf, MD 20603. Questions about a specific school’s graduation planned graduation activities should be directed to the school.
