LA PLATA, Md. — Charles County is inviting residents to participate in a series of in-person Community Workshops scheduled from February through April as part of the public engagement process for the county’s 2026 Comprehensive Plan.
The Comprehensive Plan is a long-term policy document required to be updated every 10 years and will guide how the county grows and changes over the next 20 to 25 years. The update will help shape future decisions related to land use, housing, transportation, environmental protection, and community development.
All individuals who live, work, or spend time in Charles County are encouraged to attend the Community Workshops.
The Comprehensive Plan affects everyone who lives, works, and does business in Charles County, county staff said. Hearing directly from residents helps ensure the plan reflects community priorities and informs decisions about future development and investment.
Each workshop will follow the same agenda. Residents are welcome to attend more than one meeting, though participation in a single workshop is sufficient. All meetings are open to the public.
