WALDORF, Md. — The Charles County Public Library (CCPL) invites local adults to build new career skills, prepare for industry-recognized certifications and explore hands-on learning through SkillMill, a free online skilled trades training platform available to library patrons.
Offered in partnership with Interplay Learning and funded in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services, SkillMill is designed for adults seeking workforce development and career advancement opportunities, whether they’re entering the job market, changing careers or expanding their home maintenance abilities.
What Is SkillMill?
SkillMill provides free, self-paced access to trade courses in:

Each course includes 3D and VR simulations, expert-led videos and optional certification preparation for credentials like EPA 608, OSHA 10/30 and NATE. Courses are available for a 21-day access window, and certificates of completion can be used toward continuing education or job applications. After completing a course, users may also be referred to Southern Maryland JobSource for employment assistance.
Seats are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Interested participants should fill out the SkillMill sign-up form to be contacted by library staff. No prior experience is necessary.
