Waldorf, MD – A Charles County house that was being renovated was heavily damaged by fire Wednesday, Oct. 25, state authorities reported. According to the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office, the blaze that occurred on Springbrook Court in Waldorf around 3 p.m. remains under investigation.
“The fire began in the attached garage of the residence,” a deputy state fire marshal reported.
No injuries were reported. Damage to the house is estimated at $100,000. Forty firefighters were dispatched to the one-alarm blaze and brought it under control in 15 minutes.
Investigators said the fire was discovered by a neighbor. The owner of the home was identified by authorities as Yuk Poon.
