Hundreds of local residents braved a wait time as long as two hours to get a taste of the food and cocktails at the new Cheeseburger in Paradise in Wildewood Center.
Doors opened for the island-themed restaurant and bar for the first time at 11 a.m. Tuesday with a joint event with the Boys and Girls Club of Southern Maryland.
Josh Mitchell, Managing Partner of our local Cheeseburger, told The Bay Net the $5,000 being donated to theย Boys and Girls Clubย is just a start of the restaurantโs activities and support for the community.
โFrom a company standpoint, we want to become involved with the community more,” Mitchell said, adding the restaurant will be involved with academic recognition programs for students and teachers.
As for the Jimmy Buffett-themed restaurant, the Hollywood franchise makes 39 Cheeseburgers across the East and Mid-West.
Live music is planned for every Thursday through Saturday night, and local favorites Romi christened the bar with classic party tunes.
There are numerous reasonable-priced entrees and dozens of mixed drinks on the menu, and lunch is available everyday.
โThis area emphasizes what weโre all about, with the Chesapeake Bay right here and all the water sports,โ said Mitchell, of St. Leonard.
