On April 26, at 12:26 p.m., officers responded to 7890 Fairgrounds Road in La Plata for the report of an injured child.
Investigation revealed a seven-year-old male was riding a bicycle in the middle of Fairgrounds Road when he started moving to the southbound lanes as a motorist in the northbound lanes attempted to pass. The child lost his balance, fell off of his bike and was struck by the trailer the vehicle was towing. The child had scratches to his upper extremities and was complaining of pain to his chest, arms, and face.
He was transported to Children’s Medical Center and treated for non life-threatening injuries.
