Charles County Sheriffโs officers recently responded to citizen robberies in the Waldorf area. As officers pursue leads and conduct special enforcement, the Sheriffโs Office is reminding residents to report suspicious activity immediately.ย In the past, phones calls from witnesses have made a difference and helped officers locate suspects quickly.
On May 21 at 11 p.m., officers responded to the 11000 block of Business Park Drive in Waldorf for the report of an assault. A preliminary investigation revealed the victim, 15, was approached by four suspects who assaulted him and demanded his cell phone. When the victim replied he did not have a phone, the suspects fled. The victim went home and notified a parent who called police. Officer R. Johnson is investigating.
On May 22 at 12:45 a.m., an officer was flagged down by a man who indicated he was robbed in the 11900 block of Acton Lane in Waldorf. The victim, 24, said a group of suspects approached him, assaulted him and stole his cell phone. Officer R. Garrett is investigating.
