…coastal flood advisory now in effect until 10 pm edt this
Evening…
* locations…shoreline in St. Marys county.
* tidal departure…1 to 1.5 feet above normal.
* timing…around the time of high tide this morning and again
this evening. High tide at point lookout is at 5:57 am and 6:51
pm, Coltons Point at 7:56 am and 8:04 pm, and Piney Point at
7:20 am and 7:28 pm. Additional flooding is likely through
midweek.
* Impacts…water is expected to go over a portion of the
bulkhead near the Straits Point bridge, and also cover yards
in the St Georges cCeek and St Marys River areas. Minor
shoreline inundation is possible elsewhere.
Precautionary/preparedness actions…
A coastal flood advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides
Will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.
