St. Mary’s County Commissioner Todd Morgan walked with Walden Executive Director Dr. Kathy O’Brien.

St. Mary’s City, MD — An energetic crowd under sunny skies “Walked a Mile in Her Shoes” Sunday, April 12 at St. Mary’s College of Maryland. The 5th annual event sponsored by St. Mary’s College and Walden is held to raise awareness of rape, assault and gender violence. Perfect spring weather brought out the participants to the St. Mary’s College track.

The event consisted of four laps:
• Lap One was the Leaders Lap for business, faith, community, academic and civic leaders;
• Lap Two was for men only;
• Lap Three honored survivors; and
• Lap Four was an Empowerment Lap

Walk a Mile in Her Shoes events are held around the world and were created as a way to get more men involved in efforts to prevent and end gender and sexualized violence.
