STRUCTURE FIRE IN MARYLAND

CHESAPEAKE BEACH, Md. — Firefighters responded late Wednesday night to a house fire in Chesapeake Beach after multiple 911 callers reported flames coming from the back of a home.

The fire was reported around 10:30 p.m. June 3, 2026, on Calvert Avenue.

Crews arrived to find a split-foyer home with fire showing from the rear of the residence. Fire was also reported inside both floors and on the deck.

All occupants were reported to be out of the home.

Firefighters reported that fire on the lower floor had been knocked down as crews continued operating at the scene. The rear deck had burned through, and firefighters were warned not to exit through the rear door leading to the deck.

Crews later reported all fire had been knocked down and transitioned to overhaul operations. BGE was requested to respond to the scene.

Police were requested to assist with traffic control in the area.

The American Red Cross was requested to assist two adults displaced by the fire.

The Office of the State Fire Marshal was notified and is expected to investigate the cause of the fire.
