Calvert County’s Community Center Holiday Events 2025

PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — This month, Calvert County residents will have no shortage of events to choose from to help them celebrate the holidays. There are events indoor and outdoor for all ages, from tree lightings to holiday markets to baking events.

This list focuses on indoor, kid- or senior-friendly activities at Calvert County’s community centers. These ideas will help you and your family stay warm and toasty while getting in the holiday spirit. There are not many repeats of each event, and several require pre-registration, so we suggest marking your calendars and planning ahead to make sure you don’t miss the event you’re looking forward to. Here’s the list:

North: Northeast Community Center in Chesapeake Beach and North Beach Senior Center in North Beach

UGLY SWEATER DAY
Kids ages 2–5 are invited to come celebrate Ugly Sweater Day by enjoying some one-of-a-kind sweater-inspired crafts and games. Don’t forget to wear your holiday attire—ugly is the new awesome!

WINTER HOLIDAY SOCIAL
North Beach’s senior center is hosting this holiday social, where attendees can enjoy a relaxing gathering with music, seasonal treats and holiday beverages. Registration is required by Dec. 9.

HOLIDAY MUSIC SHOWCASE
A celebration of Christmas and Hanukkah featuring inspiring holiday quotes and a live piano performance by Amy Deal.

OPEN MIC: HOLIDAY SINGALONG
Don’t let the holidays jingle by without a sing-along at the senior center!

GINGERBREAD CREATIONS
Kids 2–6 can come and show off their creativity and get into the holiday spirit as they build a one-of-a-kind gingerbread creation!

CRAFTY KIDS: LETTERS TO SANTA
Kids ages 2–5 can celebrate the holiday season by writing letters to Santa Claus!

HOLLY JOLLY FAMILY NIGHT
Celebrate the season with a timeless holiday tradition. Cozy up with loved ones for a cheerful evening filled with festive spirit, popcorn and laughter.

SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TO TOWN (Waitlist)

South: Southern Community Center in Lusby

GINGERBREAD CREATIONS
Kids 2–6 can come and show off their creativity and get into the holiday spirit as they build a one-of-a-kind gingerbread creation!

Time: 10:30–11:15 a.m.

DOGGIE PICS WITH SANTA PAWS
Santa Paws is coming to town! Bring your dog(s) for pictures with Santa and a special treat. Humans are welcome to get in the picture as well. Don’t forget to bring your camera to capture the moment. Dogs must be leashed and current on vaccinations. You only need to register one family member. Santa Paws would love it if you could bring a donation for a local animal shelter!

ORNAMENT MAKING (Waitlist)
Get in the holiday spirit by hand-making ornaments to decorate your tree or to give as gifts to family and friends. For ages 2–12.

CANDY CANE HUNT
The hunt is on! Find a candy cane hidden around the center and win. For kids ages 2–6.

CANDY CANE TOSS
Test your skills and try to land a candy cane on a limb of our holiday tree. Land it and win! For kids ages 7–15.
