
Leonardtown, MD – The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory from noon today to 8 p.m. for St. Mary’s County.
High temperatures of between 95 and 100 degrees, with heat index values of around 110 degrees are expected. Citizens are urged to take extra precautions if planning to work or spend time outdoors.
When possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when possible and drink plenty of water.
