At 1:40 a.m. Jan. 13, Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to the parking lot of Rednecks Saloon and Grill located at 4680 Crain Highway in White Plains for the report of a fight.
Upon arrival, officers observed a small crowd in the parking lot. The accused, later identified as Michael Francis Johnson, 29, of Waldorf, was acting disorderly, yelling obscenities and attempting to start a fight.
When Officer J. Clagett attempted to intervene, Johnson struck Officer Clagett. Johnson continued acting aggressively and Officer Clagett subsequently deployed his taser, immediately immobilizing Johnson.
Johnson was arrested and charged with second-degree assault, disorderly conduct and failure to obey a lawful order.
He was being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before a district court commissioner.
