
PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. – The Calvert County Board of County Commissioners recognized Calvert County Sheriff’s Office Cpl. Wayne Brooks for dedicating 30 years of faithful and loyal service to the citizens of Calvert County.
Cpl. Brooks’ admirable career began with Calvert County Government in January 1991 as a correctional officer I assigned to the Calvert County Treatment Facility. He was then transferred to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was promoted to correctional officer II in January 1992 and to correctional officer first class in February 1994. Cpl. Brooks was assigned the duties of assistant shift supervisor as a correctional corporal in July 2006. Throughout his career, Cpl. Brooks received numerous agency awards reflecting his outstanding work ethic and commitment.
Cpl. Brooks displayed and commanded respect as a corrections deputy where he worked professionally and tirelessly every shift in charge of a population of inmates. He will be remembered for his outstanding dedication, vast job knowledge and willingness to assist all staff in maintaining safety and efficient operations at the facility. Cpl. Brooks established himself as an employee who was not only reliable, but also dedicated to working above and beyond the hours expected of him.
Constantly and consistently, he volunteered and answered the call to duty when help was needed. He is greatly appreciated for his personal sacrifices in an effort to get the job done!
