Mickey Jannis pitched six innings of one-run baseball as the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs won a rain-shortened affair over the Bridgeport Bluefish Saturday night at Regency Furniture Stadium.

Jannis (4-0) scattered just one hit in his six innings of work to remain unbeaten in a Blue Crabs uniform. Stephen Hiscock (0-1) suffered the loss allowing all six runs in six innings for the Bluefish.

The Blue Crabs came away with a run in each of the first two innings courtesy of an RBI groundout by Jake Opitz and a solo home run by C.J. Ziegler, his 14th of the season.

Southern Maryland would add three more runs in the 5th inning on three run-scoring hits. Bobby Stevens, Cyle Hankerd and Steve Moss all delivered RBI singles in the 5th inning to extend the lead to 5-1. Stevens would add a solo home run in the bottom of the 6th to cap off the scoring for the night before the rain came down in Waldorf.
