Maryland State Police in La Plata are investigating a fatal crash that has left one man dead and two others fighting for their lives.
On Sept. 8 around 8 a.m., a 1999 Silver Ford Mustang being operated by Jeffrey Daniel Milan, 25 of Nanjemoy, was traveling eastbound on MD Route 6 west of Cooksey Road in Dentsville. Milan lost control of the vehicle subsequently colliding with the guardrail. After initially colliding with the guardrail, his vehicle crossed both lanes of traffic subsequently entering the wood line and striking a tree.
Two additional passengers were in the vehicle with Millan at the time of the crash. Adrian Paul Proffer, 26 of Hollywood, was sitting in the passenger seat and was flown to Baltimore Shock Trauma for the life-threatening injuries he received. A female, Kristina Ann Himes, 24 of Hollywood, was seated in the rear and was transported to PG Hospital for life threatening injuries.
Preliminary Investigation revealed that speed was a factor in the collision.
