UPDATE – Mattapany Road was reopened shortly before 9 p.m.
St. Inigoes, MD – At approximately 6:40 p.m. a crash was reported on Mattapany Road in the area of Kohut Way. St. Mary’s County authorities reported the road has been shut down. Motorists bound for the area can expect delays.
Responders at the scene reported two injuries. Of the the injured is being flown to a regional trauma center by Maryland State Police helicopter. The chopper is landing either in the roadway or an adjacent field.
