Forestville, MD – Police have identified the two drivers involved in a deadly early Christmas Morning crash on the Capitol Beltway near Branch Avenue (Route 5).

Franklin Moreno-Dunn, 25 of Fort Washington, was killed when the Honda Civic he was driving on the Beltway’s inner loop was struck head-on by a Lexus, which police determined was traveling in the wrong direction. The driver of the Lexus was identified as Courtney Isiah Benjamin Jackson, 27 of White Plains. Police have not been able to determine why Jackson was traveling in the wrong direction.


Forestville, MD – One person was killed and another injured early Christmas morning as a result of a two-vehicle collision on the inner loop of the Capital Beltway, authorities report. The crash prompted the closure of all lanes of the inner loop at Branch Avenue (Route 5). The lanes were closed from 3:30 a.m. to 8 a.m. Two lanes of the Beltway’s outer loop were blocked as police rerouted inner loop traffic, allowing motorists to bypass the crash investigation site.

According to the Maryland State Police, the crash involved a wrong-way driver.

The names of the motorist who was killed and the motorist who was injured have not been released at this time.ย
