The fire was reported around 4:55 p.m. on April 8, 2026, in the 22300 block of Chickahominy Road.
Initial units arrived to find a two-story single-family home with fire showing from the roofline and eaves. A 360-degree assessment confirmed significant fire conditions, with flames visible through portions of the roof.

Command quickly requested a working fire task force and additional water supply operations, with water being sourced from the Bushwood Landing area.
Multiple fire and EMS units from across the region responded to the scene as crews initiated an aggressive attack and worked to contain the blaze.
The American Red Cross was requested to assist a family of four adults and three children displaced by the fire.

The fire was brought under control around 5:27 p.m., with crews remaining on scene to check for hotspots and assist with overhaul operations.
Firefighters later determined the fire was caused by an accidental ignition source.
No injuries have been reported.
